Comedian Orlando Leyba On His HBO Max Special “Adorable,” Future “Entre Nos” Dates & More
Orlando Leyba is a Dominican American actor and stand-up comedian who connects with all audiences through his unique life experience and perspective and undeniable likeability. Orlando has become a regular at comedy festivals and touring nationwide at clubs throughout the U.S and Canada. Most recently, Orlando was featured in NBC’s Bring The Funny, while his HBO stand-up special Orlando Leyba: Adorable is now on HBO Max; Adorable is also available as a proper comedy album, dubbed one of the best comedy releases of 2020 by NPR’s Bullseye. In addition to touring nationwide, Leyba recurs in truTV’s Laff Mobb Laff Tracks, both performing stand-up and acting in his re-enactment stories. Leyba’s credits also include NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, HBO’s Entre Nos: Part 3, the Team Coco-produced Super Punch and the animated feature Luis & The Aliens.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Orlando Leyba via Zoom, as embedded below, on January 12, 2021. To put it nicely, Leyba was not only one of the nicest comics I have ever encountered, yet also one of the most prepared interview subjects I have ever had. “Prepared, huh?” The guy knew about my interview credits and work history, and asked about all of that in an organic matter. In turn, I came away with the understanding that Leyba is not only funny but also unbelievably motivated and hard-working. Hence many of Leyba’s long-term relationships with other headlining comics.
