Dionne Warwick On Her May 9th Livestream Event Via Mandolin, Becoming “The Queen Of Twitter,” MJF, Luther Vandross & More

Back in 2019, legendary GRAMMY Award winner Dionne Warwick released her first new album in 5 years, She’s Back. Produced by her son Damon Elliot, She’s Back was released via Elliot’s label Kind Music in conjuction with Entertainment One (also known as “eOne”). The lead-off single was an updated version of Bacharach/David’s “What The World Needs Now,” which she recorded in the 1960s.

In addition to 10 tracks of new songs, as well of remakes of pop/soul gems, She’s Back was packaged with a (remastered) bonus disc of Ms. Warwick’s 1998 album, Dionne Sings Dionne. She’s Back included duets with Kenny Lattimore (“What Color Is Love”), Musiq Soulchild (“Am I Dreaming?”), and Bone, Thugs & Harmony co-founder Krayzie Bone (“Déjà Vu”). She’s Back was ultimately Ms. Warwick’s 36th full-length studio recording, and her first dedicated R&B/soul album in 50 years.

She’s Back is only 1 thing which has kept Ms. Warwick busy in recent years. 2019 also brought the release of Dionne Warwick & The Voices of Christmas via BMG, which included collaborations with Andra Day, Michael McDonald, Johnny Mathis, Aloe Blacc and Jason Scheff. Albums aside, many have begun calling Warwick “the Queen of Twitter,” based on her hands-on approach to managing her social media and directly interacting with Twitter followers. Also on the tech end, she performed her first ever livestream-based concert last month, and will be doing another on May 9, 2021 via Mandolin.
