Aaron Jakubenko On His New Film “Great White,” Hobbies & More

In the new film Great White — due out on July 16, 2021 to theaters, on-demand and digital outlets via RLJE Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, and Shudder — a blissful tourist trip turns into a nightmare when 5 seaplane passengers are stranded miles from shore. In a desperate bid for survival, the group tries to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by a menacing terror lurking just beneath the surface. Written by Michael Boughen (Dying Breed) and directed by Martin Wilson in his feature debut, Great White stars Katrina Bowden (30 Rock), Aaron Jakubenko (Tidelands), Kimie Tsukakoshi (Riptide), Tim Kano (Neighbours), and Te Kohe Tuhaka (Love & Monsters).

The aforementioned Aaron Jakubenko is an Australian actor who started working steadily about a decade ago. He is known for playing Yuri in Conspiracy 365 and Augie McTeer in Tidelands. He also played the main character of Commodus, based on the historical figure Commodus, in the first season of the Netflix-series Roman Empire, and was one of the main characters in the American teen series titled The Shannara Chronicles. Millions also ought to know Jakubenko from his 20+ episodes as Robbo Slade on Neighbours, the Australian series which helped launch the career of numerous actors.

On July 2, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Aaron Jakubenko via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Jakubenko and Great White can be found by clicking here, here, here and here.
