Lady Donli Drops ‘Wild’ EP

Following in succession from her long awaited first release of the year with a tale of moving on in “Searching”, Lady Donli aka ‘The Pan African rockstar’ as she’s affectionately known, unveils her eclectic new EP ‘WILD’.

Taking time away during the pandemic to reset and hone in on her craft, the result is a stunning body of work with an underlying presence of African inspired sounds at the forefront, with influences of RnB, Alternative Jazz, and Hip Hop, throughout.

Speaking on the EP, Lady Donli shared: “I feel like 2020 was WILD for a lot of people. We went through so many emotions. I was sad, then relieved, then desperate to be out and I feel like the music is a reflection of that. All my lockdown emotions in one little project.”

Born Zainab Donli in Cleveland and raised in Abuja, Nigeria, it is the effects of growing up with multicultural parents complete with an enriched upbringing and vast diversity, that has resulted in the representation of many genres remaining consistent in her music today. In turn, it is this diverse approach when it comes to genres explored that continues to set Lady Donli apart from her peers.

Since becoming well known in the scene following 2019’s critically acclaimed album ‘Enjoy Your Life’ and making a name for herself with a number of Soundcloud releases, the singer-songwriter has quickly gone on to attain support and mentions from a number of tastemakers since her start in music (NOTION MAGAZINE, NATIVE MAGAZINE, VOGUE, MARIE CLAIRE, REDBULL).

With excitement continuing to increase around her persona and her debut project being referred to by some as one of the best albums to come out of Nigeria in the last decade, all eyes remain on the emerging star and her refined sound, with anticipation reaching its peak as ‘WILD’ comes to fruition.
