“The Trap Nerds” Podcast Celebrates the Intersection of Nerd Culture and the Black Community

I just got put up on this exciting new podcast I think you are gonna love! Check out the official line on the show below:

“The Trap Nerds” Podcast from Charlamagne Tha God’s and iHeartRadio’s The Black Effect Podcast Network, is hosted by four self-proclaimed nerds from the hood. On each episode of this weekly podcast, the hosts discuss a wide range of topics including comic books, movies, action figures, superheroes, tv shows, gaming, anime and current events — with no filter. No matter the topic, listeners will get a kick out of their fun conversations, side chats and banter!

The Trap Nerds launched in the middle of the COVID pandemic with their first episode dedicated to actor Chadwick Boseman as the group chatted about the actor’s legacy and how Marvel will move forward with the Black Panther storyline following his passing. It has been their goal from the start to inform people of color that there are people out there that look like them who are interested and invested in these types of “nerd” genres.

Episode topics range from the most recent Marvel and DC news, to the hosts selecting their own Emmy noms, to the biggest games of 2021, as well as humorous conversations like the worst and best fathers in pop culture in a special Father’s Day segment. The hosts are set to attend the Blerd Convention on July 15-17th and will be on a virtual panel at Dream Con on July 23-25th.

Full episodes of The Trap Nerds can be found HERE. The podcast is available on iHeartRadio and all major podcast platforms. More information on The Trap Nerds Podcast and the Black Effect Network can be found below.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

Exavier Poole is your neighborhood big boy Trap Nerd. Writer and published author of Arrived on Scene (the diary of Roy Xander), Owner of Stories from the Grove productions, and Host of The Trap Nerds Podcast. Not only does he bring some laughs to the podcast, he is a comic book lover, anime watcher, animal lover, and Batman enthusiast.

Tony Marin is a self-proclaimed anime protagonist, and a self-taught fledgling video editor. VxVash, a.k.a. Tony, is what one would call a weeb. While other members of the podcast may be more into the comics side, Tony is all in when it comes to gaming and anime. Though they are one in the same, his virtual persona seems to be forming a mind of his own!

Drizzy Dre Popcorn born Devontae Lewis is a choreographer, gamer, and nerd historian from Shreveport, LA. Besides being a podcast host he’s a source for people in his city that informs people on comic book and video game lore. Dre also teaches dance and plays video games competitively when he isn’t working his 9 to 5. He is the host who can tell a story arc accurately from memory along with some tales from the wild book called life.

Elizasa Alexander aka BakuxBaku is the ignorant comedian of the Trap Nerds Podcast, and always finds a way to drive the train off the tracks. Dallas born and raised, he is a physical specimen with the intelligence of a 1980s supercomputer.
