Official Celebrity Boxing: Lamar Odom & Riddick Bowe Face Off This October in Miami

On October 2, 2021, two-time NBA champion Lamar Odom will take on two-time world heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe at James L. Knight Arena in Miami, FL.

This fight will be Odom’s second high-profile fight in the world of celebrity boxing. His first matchup was this past June when he knocked out pop star Aaron Carter during the second round in June.

Odom, 41, a retired 13-year NBA player is best known for his years as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. He has also gained notoriety as a reality television star due to his past relationship with Khloe Kardashian, which ended up featuring him on both Keeping Up with the Kardashians and a spin-off show, Khloe and Lamar reality tv shows.

“Riddick’s return to boxing,” says Damon Feldman, founder of the Official Celebrity Boxing league. “He always wanted to step back in the ring in some capacity and now he is with Celebrity Boxing. It’s gonna be a fun, cool, match, two legends of their games taking it on.”

For Bowe, this will be the first time he will step back in the ring since 2008.

Bowe, 53, was one of boxing’s best heavyweights. After winning a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, he won his first 32 pro bouts capped off by a unanimous decision win over Evander Holyfield that made Bowe the WBA, WBC, and IBF heavyweight champion. His pro boxing record stands at 43-1 (1 NC).

There will be three undercard matches for this evening. The first will include Carlton Washington, co-founder of 4Ever Young Anti-Aging and former KO winner from South Florida’s 2019 Official Celebrity Boxing match. Carlton will be going head to head with actor/wrestler Byson Clutch who also previously fought, but lost. This match is set to be his official redemption match. The second match will be between Paulie Malignaggi, 2x World Champion in Boxing and  Social Media Star & Radio Host Corey B. The third match will be between Prince from VH1’s Love and HipHop Miami and social media TikTok star, HolyGxd.

“It’s Official Celebrity Boxing, we’ve been doing it for 18 years,” Feldman said. “I’m real excited because we’re changing the game of boxing with the entertainment. Everybody thinks Jake and Logan Paul are celebrity boxing, they’re really professional fighters. My niche is you keep people safe and they battle it out for six minutes.”
