Detroit’s BandGang Lonnie Bands Declares He’s Here to Stay Via New Project ‘Hard 2 Kill’

Here’s a young lion you’ve probably never heard of but should not miss out on. The official line is that BandGang Lonnie Bands has been a mainstay in Detroit for over 5 years. Ever since he was tearing up YouTube with his BandGang brothers, he cut a distinctive figure in his hometown scene. Lonnie has a track record laced with buzzing tracks: he stood out in the Detroit posse cut “Wack Jumper,” brought his midwest energy to the west coast on Shoreline Mafia’s “Homicide,” and sizzled on solo tracks like “Anti Motive.” After dodging death–he survived a gunshot wound to the head and walked out of the hospital the next day–Hard 2 Kill (H2K) is a statement album that forces Lonnie’s opps and naysayers to recognize his all-star status in the streets. With the project garnering hype from his fans, anticipation from his peers, and eager looks from out of town, it’s only a matter of time before he gets that verse from Drake.
