0From The Virginia Campaign Trail ‘The Circus’ Celebrates 100 Episodes
Recently nominated for two Emmy® awards, THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH celebrates its 100th episode this Sunday with a look at Virginia’s governor’s race, the marquee campaign of the fall.
Hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner, Mark McKinnon and Jennifer Palmieri are “on-the-ground” in the Commonwealth to hear from both sides of the deadlocked race between former Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe and Republican nominee Glenn Youngkin. The program examines how this election is a bellwether for next year’s midterms with control of Congress on the line.
Episode interviews include:
- The Circus hosts speak one-on-one with both McAuliffe and Youngkin during a breakneck week on the campaign trail.
- Richmond Mayor and McAuliffe campaign co-chair Levar Stoney on what’s at stake in this race.
- Youngkin’s senior campaign staff discuss their strategy down the homestretch.
- Patti Menders, President of the Loudoun County Republican Women’s Club, on why “critical race theory” and a fight over schools is firing up Youngkin’s supporters.
THE CIRCUS is produced by Left/Right for SHOWTIME. John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, Alex Wagner, Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman, Tom Johnson and Siobhan Walshe serve as executive producers.
