Wes Nelson Releases New Single And Dance Video For “Say Nothing”

Following his explosive arrival on the UK music scene, R&B/Pop hitmaker Wes Nelson returns with his latest fire hot track and dance video for “Say Nothing” today.

Pairing light Afrobeat rhythms with paired back guitars, breezy tropical production and silky R&B melodies, “Say Nothing” shows the world another side to Wes’ multifaceted artistry. Written by Wes and produced by regular collaborator Ayo Beatz (Fredo, Young M.A, KSI), it exemplifies Wes’ talent as both a vocalist and a songwriter, showcasing his innate ability to craft catchy choruses and infectious hooks that linger long after the song has finished. In fact, the track has already become a fan favorite, with an early snippet of the song shared on Instagram picking up over 1 million views in just a few days. Watch here

Wes wrote “Say Nothing” in a makeshift home studio in his friend’s spare bedroom just a day after he penned his breakthrough debut single “See Nobody,” which went on to become one of 2020’s biggest singles. A Gold-certified hit in the UK (and about to hit platinum) and double platinum in Ireland, the Top 3 debut single has accumulated over 113 million global streams, over 350k TikTok video creations and over 17 million video views.

“I wrote ‘Say Nothing’ the day after I wrote ‘See Nobody’ over Facetime with Ayo Beatz. The song means a lot to me as it was right at the beginning of my journey as a songwriter, and I was in such a good place creatively. I’m so excited to finally release it,” Wes says on the track.

Since then, Wes has firmly cemented his position as one of the country’s most exciting new artists, picking up praise from amongst cultural commentators, musicians and attracted notable fans such as the likes of Anthony Joshua, Idris Elba, Stevo The Madman, Chip, Krept & Konan, Raheem Sterling, Maya Jama, Mo Gillingham, S1mba, Jae5, SL, Ardee, Clean Bandit, A1 x J1 and many more. Achieving three consecutive Top 40 hits with ““See Nobody,”“Nice To Meet You” ft Yxng Bane and “Drive” with Clean Bandit and Topic (about to hit Top 20) he has incredibly racked up nearly 1 million single sales and over 250 million streams in just over a year. His music has also gone viral on TikTok, with over 1 million video creations on the platform across just “See Nobody” and “Nice To Meet You” (which also scored a Top 5 in Germany and Top 10 in Austria and Switzerland).

Despite being an undefeated champion Muay Thai kickboxer, a semi-professional footballer and studying to become a Nuclear System Design Engineer, music has always been Wes’ first love. As a child, he would perform to his family every Friday night and sing along to Top Of The Pops, although as a teenager he lacked the confidence to pursue his passion full time. The pandemic provided Wes with an opportunity to return to his musical passions. Setting up a makeshift studio in his friend’s spare room, he took the discipline he learnt from Muay Thai and spent hours teaching himself how to write songs and produce music.

Now, Wes is fully focused on music and has ambitions that match his immeasurable talent. He has the desire and potential to be one of the UK’s most successful R&B/Pop artists, and his already set his sights on cracking the US.

“I know it’s not going to happen overnight, but consistency is key,” he says. “Music is the only thing that’s really resonated, this is the one thing I really want to do. This is not a passion project or a whim or a gimmick. I’m in this for the long haul.”

With a growing number of international hits and an army of fans, 2021 has been an incredible breakthrough year for Wes with 2022 looking set to be even bigger!
