Mugun Reveals New Track ‘Walking Street’

Posing as one of many artists championing Coventry’s vibrant scene, Mugun showcase his lyrical dexterity and dauntless approach in brand new release, ‘Walking Street’.

Underpinned with an eerie and skittering production, ‘Walking Street’ is bursting with energy from the offset as Mugun explains: “Walking Street is a street tale with the addition of vibes to it. It stands apart from the typical street as it doesn’t fit the norm. I wanted it to capture the confidence you get after going to all the places your parents warned you not to go”. Reputable for his self-assured presence, Mugun’s fire-flows and refined pen game sit centre stage in this hard-hitting release. Housing textures from all walks of Rap, Mugun’s ability to intertwine complex bars in with dynamic flows, not to mention his staggering flare, set him apart from other rappers in Black British music.

Infatuated with music from a youthful age as he grew up in a music-obsessed household, it was inevitable that Mugun would one day take a similar path to his father. Exposed to artists such as Sanchez and Josey Wales as a kid, his eager ear moved to Jamaica at just 12 years of age where he was introduced to the islands truest cultural compass. Swiftly returning to the UK at 16, it wasn’t until then that Mugun decided to put his pen to paper and take his love for music to the next level.

Since his 2017 arrival, the prodigy has collaborated with the likes of Kojey Radical, IAMDDB and gained recognition from media platforms such as GRM, where he housed a nomination in the ‘Get Rated’ awards, as well as winning ‘Best Urban Act’ in the Unsigned Music Awards.
