Meet RichReI With His Release of the SonShine EP

RichRel has already had much humbled success with his release of the SonShine EP. Specifically, the singles Sonshine & Good Fridays, which “charted” upon their PlayMPE releases in October of 2021. He now releases LIKE 12:08, which is already his most popular streaming song to date, moving people around the world. I hope it moves you as well!

Richard John Reliford aka RichRel was born in Chicago, IL and raised in the southwestern suburb of Bolingbrook, IL. He received a football scholarship to the University of Akron where he earned a Mechanical Polymer Engineering degree, served as President of the Beta Beta Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He has raised three awesome young adults that are all currently entering, attending, and finishing college: Twins (TayLore & Richard II (RJ) Reliford) and his youngest TaMya Reliford.

RichRel is a bit of a renaissance man with an athletic, artistic (actor, creator, and independent artist), advocacy and professional background. His professional background includes engineering, sales, marketing, education, ministry, leadership and prior to his current role, he served as the National Partnerships Manager for World Vision, RichRel is also the President and Founder of Mission1Race ( With the founding belief that We Are Uniquely The Same®; and therefore creates content, community experiences, unity based curriculum and seeks to establish diverse collaborations to advocate for, bring together and serve all.), and in April of 2019 & December of 2020 he set out to run 250 miles, visiting 7 missions over 6 days up the California coast for 1 human race to advocate for justice, radical forgiveness, human reconciliation & oneness.

He has been writing, playing and producing music since 5 years old when his father put a bass guitar in his hand. His “sound” is still evolving.
