0Eric Dover On The New Lickerish Quartet EP “Threesome Vol. 3,” Sextus Plans, Van Halen & More
Featuring ex-Jellyfish members Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Beck, Air, Cheap Trick, Morrissey), Tim Smith (Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Finn Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Umajets) and Eric Dover (Imperial Drag, Slash’s Snakepit, Alice Cooper, Sextus), the existence of The Lickerish Quartet was first announced in 2020. Its highly-anticipated debut EP Threesome Vol. 1 was covered by The Hype via an interview with Manning Jr. in May 2020, as announced to be the first EP in a trilogy. Threesome Vol. 3 is finally out this month, as due out tomorrow via Stranger Danger Records and Tapes, as distributed by Burnside and The Orchard in the United States and by Lojinx in the U.K. and Europe.
The aforementioned Eric Dover joined the aforementioned Jellyfish in 1993 and stayed with the group through its disbanding in 1994. This led to work with Manning Jr. in Doverman and Imperial Drag, with work in between those two projects as the lead vocalist in Slash’s Snakepit. Dover would also pop up in Alice Cooper’s band, participating as a songwriter beyond his bass and vocal duties, beyond launching a solo career under the name Sextus. Simply put, Dover works a lot and you never know where he will pop up — like that infamous 2006 house party hosted by Eddie Van Halen.
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of interviewing Eric Dover via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Dover and The Lickerish Quartet can be found online by clicking here, here and here.
