Jacob ‘Trippy Ja’ Walter to Release Another Hit With Celebrities 24hrs and Futuristic
Philadelphia-based hip hop producer, Jacob Walter, known worldwide as Trippy Ja, has been putting his A-list status to use this year. Recently, landing major collaborations with industry leaders including YBN Nahmir and Fetty Wap, Trippy Ja has announced an upcoming album with west coast hip hop celebrities 24hrs and Futuristic.
Recording with hip hop artist 24hrs last Spring, Trippy Ja released the hit single “Nipsey Blue (feat. 24hrs).” The song went viral on social media within the first few weeks of release and charted over ten million streams worldwide, sparking news of another collaboration between the two icons.
Last week, Trippy Ja announced that his second project with 24hrs titled “Listen to Me” is in motion and scheduled to release within the next month. Teaming up with rap sensation Futuristic earlier this year, Trippy Ja has confirmed the collaboration will also house a verse and hook from Futuristic. However, this track is not the usual vibe fans would expect. By taking artists out of their typical stylistic comfort zones and pushing the boundaries of different musical genres, Trippy Ja has facilitated a new innovative sound for both platinum artists.
Through mixing multiple RnB rooted guitar licks and applying them to rap based beats, Trippy Ja has flaunted his unique palette of instrumental and production skills. From smooth piano melodies to complex picking patterns, the song “Listen to Me” is a composition unlike any other in hip hop. By pulling both 24hrs and Futuristic out of their stylistic domain to RnB and rock n’ roll, Trippy Ja is unlocking unknown creativity in some of the world’s most iconic artists.
This is only the second time 24hrs has made an appearance on one of Trippy Ja’s records, as fans expect many more collaborations between the two legends. With their first record hitting over ten million streams in the first few months of release, all eyes will be on the charts for their new single “Listen to Me.”
