From Rain to Sunshine: HBK Tyranny & HBK Donavon Pay Homage to Natasha Bedingfield

We all remember early 2000s pop and RNB as an era of music filled with catchy hooks that can give anybody that seemingly rare feeling of nostalgia. 15 years ago, Natasha Bedingfield dropped the number one billboard hit, “Pocketful of Sunshine”. The catchy chorus has now been brought back to us by the likes of Tyranny Pace and Donavon Wilkerson, better known by their stage names HBK Tyranny and HBK Donavon in their recent release of “Sunshine”, a spin on the Natasha Bedingfield classic.

The song is already trending on Tik Tok with hundreds of users posting their own trends and dances to the track. A song that everyone can dance to, the commercial appeal of the song is apparent through the already 100,000 combined streams across streaming platforms Spotify, and Apple music.

The song is last on the tracklist of the collaborative mixtape “Welcome to Heartbreak” by HBK Tyranny and HBK Donavon. An emotional project indeed, “Sunshine” is a nice break from the overall darkness of the mixtape making it a perfect song to end the project with. An uplifting song with commercial appeal makes it only a matter of time before Natasha Bedingfield herself takes notice, and who knows? Maybe we can expect a remix from the pop star herself.
