Dampszn Gives Us A Dose of DAMPHETAMINE

If you’re looking for a new artist to check out, let me introduce you to someone new on my radar. Jordan Dampf, better known as Dampszn, is 22-year-old hip-hop, rap, and R&B artist from Long Island, NY. With nothing but a laptop and a microphone, he has accumulated millions of streams all from his basement closet. He emerged onto the underground music scene in 2018, but gained popularity with his songs “Hydroplane” and “Cancelled” between 2019 and 2020.

His unique style is best known for his electronic vocals over acoustic guitar beats but looks to pop-infused hip-hop acts like Iann Dior, 24kGoldn, and The Kid LAROI as his influences. Connecting with people through his music, he continues to garner fans from around the world.

I got a chance to check out some of his content and I love how he presents himself. His style is smooth but energetic, and I can definitely see him following in the footsteps of artists like 24kGoldn and The Kid Laroi within the next few years.

The time he puts into his craft is definitely apparent, and have never been to a studio, I am extremely impressed by the content he is putting out. Dampszn has recently dropped his long-awaited EP “DAMPHETAMINE” and many are saying it is some of his best work to date. A recent graduate from Ithaca College, he dedicates this project to the past four years of his college experience and the next chapter that awaits him.

Some of my favorite songs from the project include “Twenty Two” inspired by a transitional turning point in his life and “Pathetic” which appears to be inspired by a devastating heartbreak and a messy breakup. But as he continues to work as a solo artist, he has recently signed to the independent record label “Next Chapter Music” based in the Netherlands, helping him market his music and further develop his success as an artist.

Dampszn promises a lot of new music coming within the next few months, and I am beyond excited to hear what he has planned next. To follow his journey check out his Instagram @dampszn and be sure to stream “DAMPHETAMINE” currently out now on all streaming platforms.
