Cameron Douglas, Edouard Philipponnat & Jessica Amlee On The New Film “The Runner,” Future Projects & More

The new film The Runner — as scheduled for release via Saban Films to theaters on August 19, 2022 and to digital and on-demand outlets on August 23, 2022 — revolves around a high school student named Aiden with a booming drug business. The student, as played by Edouard Philipponnat (House Of Gucci) gets in over his head when he is forced by cops to go undercover and ensnare a major dealer and his syndicate. From the outside, Aiden seems to have it all, including cash, a new ride, a beautiful girlfriend and a future full of opportunity. But the swagger of Aiden appears to mask a darkness.
Also starring Cameron Douglas (Wonder Boys, author of Long Way Home), Eric Balfour (24, Six Feet Under), Elizabeth Röhm (American Hustle) and Jessica Amlee (For All Mankind, Greenhouse Academy), The Runner is an intense, riveting action/drama from director Michelle Danner and writer Jason Chase Tyrrell. On August 9, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with Edouard Philipponnat, Cameron Douglas and Jessica Amlee via Zoom, as embedded below along with the trailer for the film.
