Rip Micheals On The “Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam,” Other Tours & Projects He Is Producing, Long Island, Positivity & More

As seen hosting Urban Eats & Treats and performing on 9 seasons of MTV’s Wild ‘N Out, comedian, producer and TV personality Rip Micheals recently announced his newest event concept: the Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam. The stellar musical lineup for the Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam features R&B superstars Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Mario, Jacquees and August Alsina, alongside the comedy of Zoie Fenty aka GotDamnZo, Brandon T. Jackson, Pretty Vee and event host/producer Rip Micheals. The success of the inaugural Fall Back Comedy Jam show in New York last year led New York City Mayor Eric Adams to declare September 27, 2021 as “Rip Micheals Fall Back Comedy Jam Day.”

Beyond the Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam — which heads to Washington, D.C. on September 16, 2022, Chicago’s Arie Crown Theater on September 17, 2022, and New York’s UBS Arena on September 18, 2022 — Rip Micheals has also found big success with the April Fools Comedy Jam Tour, which has been dazzling sold-out audiences since 2012. In 2019, Micheals produced the #2-ranking Pollstar Tour Of The Year, Wild ‘N Out Live, with 40 sold-out arena shows across the United States. Notably, Wild ‘N Out Live set a record in Washington, D.C. for selling out two arenas in the same night. Comedy tours aside, Michaels’ Urban Eats & Treats is distributed by HARTBEAT Studios and is now streaming in over 100 million homes via Pluto, Tubi, Roku, Peacock, and other key streaming distribution platforms.

On August 11, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with Rip Micheals via Zoom, embedded below. Beyond the Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam, we spoke about other events he has found success with producing, what inspired him to become an entrepreneur, his goals as a performer, the Starz Ultra Lounge and Long Island, New York. More on Micheals can be found here, here and here.
