A Look At Five Finger Death Punch’s (Must-See) 2022 North American Tour With Megadeth, The Hu & Fire From The Gods
In support of the new album Afterlife, multi-platinum hard rock powerhouse Five Finger Death Punch — as comprised of frontman Ivan Moody, guitarists Zoltan Bathory and Andy James, bassist Chris Kael and drummer Charlie Engen — is currently in the midst of a North American headlining tour presented by Live Nation. Launched last month in Portland, Oregon, the tour spans over 30 dates before closing out on October 15, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The band is joined on tour by rock icons Megadeth, with additional support from The HU and Fire From The Gods. The tour hit Long Island, New York’s Northwell Health At Jones Beach Theater on September 12, 2022, which this writer had the absolute pleasure of seeing in-person, as the evening consisted of wall-to-wall metal fun.
As it turns out, Five Finger Death Punch was not the only artist on the billing with new music to speak of. Megadeth’s The Sick, the Dying… And The Dead!, as releasd earlier this month, has hit #1 on various Billboard, iTunes and Amazon charts; the band remains led by Dave Mustaine with bassist James LoMenzo, guitarist Kiko Loureiro and drummer Dirk Verbeuren backing home. Mongolia-based The Hu has a new album coming out this month, Rumble Of Thunder, and are part of the soundtrack for the new film The Retaliators. Soul Revolution, by Fire From The Gods, is slated for release next month via the Eleven Seven label; its previous full-length, 2019’s American Sun, yielded three charting singles.
Below are photo highlights from the Jones Beach stop on the tour, in addition to recent interviews I conducted with the filmmaker behind The Retaliators and members of Megadeth and The Hu; an interview taped backstage at Jones Beach with Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael will premiere via The Hype later this week. Tour dates and more information on this must-see tour can be found online by clicking here, here and here, with 5FDP doing more touring this year with Brantley Gilbert.
