Minnie Merda: Femme Fatale

“Put You Thru Hell” comes courtesy of the Death Row Summer compilation, while “Bang Bang” is featured on the motion picture soundtrack to Netflix’s Snoop, Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco starring, Day Shift — How did you even manage to land these placements?

The team behind Minnie Merda has a history of writing, production and feature credits with Snoop Dogg and his team over at Death Row. Some of the album has been / is being recorded over at his studio, so he has had ears on all the songs at various stages of production, and helped curate both songs for both projects with his team.

Of course (and I may be assuming here but) “Put You Thru Hell” and “Bang Bang” also will be featured on your still forthcoming solo debut — What all can you reveal and / or divulge about upcoming said body of work?

The debut album under this new moniker is titled, The Tales of Minnie Merda, which is currently in progress. The album explores the character and storyline of a vixen vigilante named Minnie Merda who assassinates bad men.

In having said that, how do you classify your overall sound and / or style?

We hope The Tales of Minnie Merda becomes a timeless, soulful classic with influences from many genres, including Hip Hop, R&B, and Rock. It was important to all of us that this project include sounds from diverse live instruments and talented musicians, and that the listener can feel the passion that was put into each (of) these songs when they hear them.

What do you want people to get from your music?

I want the Minnie Merda character and The Tales of Minnie Merda project to be empowering, specifically for survivors of trauma, abuse and sexual violence.
