Akira Galaxy Debuts Ethereal Indie-Rock Single “Virtual Eyes”
Indie-rock newcomer Akira Galaxy is proud to release her debut single, “Virtual Eyes.” Drawing inspiration from a mid-pandemic small love affair, Akira explores the emotions of falling in love during a time of stillness, only to later realize that the moment was built on a fleeting fantasy.
“Virtual Eyes” is a stunning alt-pop creation that captivates listeners with its dreamy atmosphere and poignant yearning. Akira’s husky, resonant vocals bring depth and vulnerability to the track as she sings, “I want your impossible devotion / So look me in my virtual eyes.”
Speaking about the song, Akira explains, “Writing this song was a cathartic experience. It came together when I was in a state of complete brokenness, and being in the vortex of this song is what pieced me back together. I think the most secretly beautiful thing about life is turning the darkest moments into light, and the way I know how to do that is through the music.”
The mesmerizing music video for “Virtual Eyes” is directed by Silken Weinberg (Ethel Cain, Blue DeTiger) and Angela Ricciardi (Skull Crusher, Angel Olsen) and was filmed on location in Paris. In harmony with the hypnotic essence of the song, the video features Akira as she pursues her elusive lover through the mystical French landscapes.
