Simone Kelly Drops New Single ‘Too Late’

In the midst of self-discovery, Simone Kelly was at a turning point trying to figure out her next steps. After a traumatizing and emotionally abusive relationship, Kelly found the courage to pursue her dreams, no matter how crazy they seemed. Not only was music her passion, but it was also an outlet that transformed her life for the better. After being laughed at by her ex-partner and told to pursue acting instead, Kelly’s eyes opened wide to the shell she was living in.

Her adolescent years of helping her uncle, a former rap group member, write and record verses in the studio paid off as she worked on her own music. Kelly mentioned, ‘I started writing records about the way I was feeling at that time and it started making me stronger.’

All of the times when Kelly didn’t have the words to speak up, she used music as a language to speak her truth and walk away.

As an open book, Simone Kelly doesn’t hide too many things from her fans and wants to share her journey to self-love. Comparable to Summer Walker, Kelly’s music can be viewed as a diary with its vulnerability and transparent lyrics. With her new song, “Too Late,” Kelly wants listeners to know that it’s okay to let go of what is no longer serving you.
