“Commemorating Eazy E: Dedication of a Street to Honor the Compton Icon”

Eric (**Eazy E**) Wright, renowned for his iconic presence in the rap scene and often recognized for cruising in his six-four, is acknowledged by the entertainment industry as the Godfather of West Coast Rap. Songs like “We Want **Eazy**” and “**Eazy** Duz-it” cement his legacy, influencing a new generation of hip-hop artists. Recently, Kanye West and The Game sampled his music in their track “My Life Was Never **Eazy**”.

Starting his music career in 1986, **Eazy E** emerged from Compton, a founding member of the legendary group NWA, alongside hip-hop luminaries like Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. Concurrently, he established Ruthless Records, a label that became synonymous with his name.

Elevating West Coast Gangster Rap, **Eazy E** signed several remarkable artists, including J.J Fad, Sylk E Fyne, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and others, producing hit records like “Supersonic”, “Romeo and Juliet”, and “For The Love of Money”.

Tragically, at the age of thirty in 1995, Eric (**Eazy E**) Wright passed away due to illness, leaving behind a monumental legacy that influenced rap icons like Ice-T, Too Short, and today’s mogul, Snoop Dogg.

Recognizing his profound impact on the community, on November 22, 2023, the City of Compton honored his memory in the 50th Year of Hip Hop by dedicating a street in his name, now known as **Eazy** Street. The ceremony was a poignant affair, drawing heartfelt emotions from the city’s residents and notable attendees, including **Eazy E**’s mother, Kathie Wright, his children Erica, Eric, Ebbie, Derek, and Marquis, along with DJ Battlecat, Lazy Bone, Sakoya Wynter, Arnold “Big A” White, Virginia Slim, Sylk E Fyne, Alonzo Arnold, Big Hutch of Above The Law, Reality Star I Am Compton of Black, and a multitude of fans and reporters.

With the street dedication sparking interest, fans now eagerly inquire about the possibility of a star for **Eazy E** on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
