Black Storytellers Present Season 7 of ‘Stories from the Stage’
Hosted by Wes Hazard and Theresa Okokon, the renowned national storytelling series, Stories from the Stage (formerly WORLD Channel), commences its seventh season amidst a backdrop of significant dreams and extensive journeys. The series, fostering the belief that amidst challenging times, our commonalities outweigh our differences, debuts with two captivating episodes featuring individuals dreaming expansively and traversing vast distances.
Diverse Narratives of Aspiration and Exploration
The compelling tales showcased in the initial episodes encompass the remarkable experiences of individuals such as genocide educator and author Karen Kersten. Kersten recounts her poignant journey in seeking out the nuns who sheltered her Holocaust survivor mother from the clutches of the Nazis. Additionally, the narrative delves into the life of Zalaikha Wahid, a former medical student from Bunker Hill Community College who fled Afghanistan during the Taliban regime’s ascension.
