Eem Triplin Gives Up On Love, Shares “Stephanie,” a New Video Single

Eem Triplin uses his melodic rasp to tell relatable, charming stories about his life as a rising rap star. Kicking off a big year with a new single, the 22-year-old artist and producer shares “stephanie,” along with its music video.

Produced by Eem and his frequent collaborators Sauron (“WALKED IN,” “WASTED TIMES”) and Imitation Therapy, “stephanie” is an easygoing anthem flecked with plaintive piano chords and euphoric vocal samples. Reflecting on a recent fling, Eem examines what went wrong and how his bad experience with infidelity helped shape him into the man he is today: “When Stephanie broke my heart, I evolved, I became who I am who I are/Never would I have thought I would take this sh*t far, now I’m up with the moon and the stars.” The video for “stephanie” was filmed during a stop on his fast-selling “STILL PRETTY TOUR,” as Eem performs for an adoring crowd, relaxes backstage, and shows off his dance moves.

2023 was a year of leveling up for Eem Triplin, as he performed several sold out dates, shut it down at festivals like Rolling Loud Miami and Clout Festival and Splash! Festival overseas, and released STILL PRETTY, his debut EP. Spanning 7 tracks, and featuring production contributions from DJ Dahi, the STILL PRETTY EP features fan favorite singles like “WALKED IN,” “TELL ME I’M RIGHT,” and “What Da Opp Said.” After touring as direct support for LUCKI and $NOT earlier in the year, Eem played his first-ever headlining show in his hometown of Johnstown, Pennsylvania in July, as 1,500 fans greeted him with an ecstatic reception–many fans lined up hours early to get a great spot, and others enthusiastically crowd-surfed as Eem did his thing on stage. Eem then set out on his debut, headline tour STILL PRETTY North American Tour – selling 11,000 tickets across 21 shows (90% sell out). Eem closed out the year by releasing two new songs, “YEAH YEAH” and “Allocate.”

Already named an artist to watch in 2024 by Blavity, Eem looks to continue his upward trajectory that started with viral singles like “AWKWARD FREESTYLE” and “JUST FRIENDS.” With hundreds of millions of streams to date and much more music on the way, Eem Triplin is only just beginning to realize his vast potential. Stay tuned.

The 22-Year-Old Artist/Producer Prepares for a Big Year With a Low-Key Story About Moving Past Heartbreak

The Background:

Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a community of roughly 18,000 located near Pittsburgh, Eem started his career as a producer, creating and selling beats online, producing songs for artists like $NOT and T9ine, including the latter’s fan favorite tracks “BENZO” and “Revenge.” Eem’s success as a producer fueled his desire to become an artist in his own right. His career as an artist kicked into high gear when he shared “AWKWARD FREESTYLE,” a self-produced, personality-filled song that used elements of Tyler, The Creator’s 2013 song “Awkward.” The song quickly went viral, inspiring thousands of TikTok creations, generating millions of streams on all platforms, and eventually reaching the ears of Tyler himself, who gave the song his enthusiastic co-sign.

Since then, Eem scored follow-up hits like “JUST FRIENDS?” and “LOUIE V,” generated multiple viral moments at Rolling Loud Festival, and drew the attention of the Johnstown newspaper, The Tribune-Democrat, who profiled the local hero and captured his community’s excitement about his success. With millions of streams on his catalog per week, the 22-year-old Eem Triplin has a shot to become one of his generation’s biggest stars.
