André 3000 Announces “New Blue Sun Live” Tour
André 3000 announced a run of intimate live shows in support of his critically charged instrumental album, New Blue Sun, which was released in November on Epic Records. Co-produced by André and lauded multi-instrumentalist Carlos Niño, and featuring the playing of Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, Deantoni Parks, Diego Gaeta, Matthewdavid, V.C.R, Diego Gaeta, Jesse Peterson, and Mia Doi Todd, New Blue Sun was an entirely instrumental album; a celebratory piece of work in the form of a living, breathing, improvised, aural organism.
The tour kicked off on January 29 in Brooklyn, NY followed by a three-night residency at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club in Manhattan, where André and his collaborators played two shows per night. They made stops in Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and San Francisco before finishing with a five-night stint at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles. Tickets went on sale January 24.
