Hit-Boy & The Alchemist Surprise Fans With New Three-pack Ep ‘Theodore & Andre’

Hit-Boy tees off Black History Month with a special three-track EP. Pairing up with frequent collaborator The Alchemist, the Grammy-nominated duo have released their new surprise project entitled THEODORE & ANDRE, out now, via Surf Club / ALC.

Arriving three days before the 66th annual Grammy Awards, Hit-Boy continues his hot streak with THEODORE & ANDRE, just weeks after releasing Paisley Dreams by Big Hit and The Game, and Big Hit’s debut album, The Truth Is In My Eyes. Following his 2023 ladder of releases SURF OR DROWNSURF OR DROWN VOL. 2Kings Disease IIIMagic 2Magic 3, and Victims and Villains, which earned Hit-Boy’s nomination for “Producer of The Year” and “Best Rap Album.”

The three-track EP is accompanied by a new visual, picking up where Hit-Boy and The Alchemist left off with 2023’s “Slipping Into Darkness.” They enter Terminal 27’s concealed showroom as Hit-Boy unpacks his Supreme Akai drum machine and drops the beat for “MORRISSEY” while Alchemist introduces fans to the lyrical prowess of THEODORE & ANDRE. The visual suddenly changes, transporting fans into the additional tracks “THE MAIN EVENT” and “DON’T BE GONE”. Offering a 3-for-1 music video, and an anecdotal testament to Hit-Boy and Alchemist doing things on their own time. Check out the full video.

California-bred Hit-Boy has more than earned his moniker. Born Chauncey Hollis, the 3x Grammy Award-winning multi-hyphenate artist from Pasadena boasts an impressive roster of credits. From wielding pop smashes for Beyoncé, Rihanna and Ariana Grande to producing hit records for Jay-Z, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and more over his thirteen plus years in the industry. As a rapper and songwriter in his own right, Hit-Boy has recorded and released seven mixtapes and six collaborative albums. In 2021, he earned a GRAMMY for Nas’ King’s Disease (serving as an executive producer on the ‘Best Rap Album’), and the super producer earned his first-time GRAMMY nomination for the ‘Producer of the Year.’ He has racked up several additional accolades, including ‘Producer of the Year’ at the 2020 and 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards, ‘Producer of the Year’ at the XXL Awards, ‘Outstanding Producer of the Year’ at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards, and Complex’s ‘Best Hip-Hop Producer Alive’ of 2020. Not to mention, Hit-Boy served as executive producer for Nas’ King’s Disease, and the series subsequent releases (KD II & KD III), three installments of Magic (including Magic 2 & Magic 3), Big Sean’s Detroit 2 (debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200), Musiq Soulchild’s Victim & Villains, Belly’s Mumble Rap 2, produced ‘Thique’ on Beyoncé’s latest project, Renaissance, and served as the soundtrack curator for Madden NFL 23. Since then, Hit-Boy’s prestige has continued to grow considerably.
