NLE Choppa Shines Bright With New Single & Music Video “City Lights”

Global hitmaker NLE Choppa serves up a melodic and moving new single and music video entitled “CITY LIGHTS” in loving memory of his fallen friend Deonte’ “Tae Grape” Fletcher. Listen and watch via NLE Entertainment/Warner Records. This Spring, Choppa embarks on the ‘Better Off Alone’ tour with A Boogie, kicking off in Seattle, WA, on May 18th.

The track illuminates his uncanny ability to deliver visceral subject matter via vibrant melodies. Smooth flows glide over the verses as the chorus basks in the glow of flashing lights, “Got police trying to pull me over, not scared to come outside, even though they’ll follow me.” He paints a vivid picture of street life as he sighs, “It ain’t no mercy.” Directed by Wolfe Productions, the accompanying visual brings viewers into the heart of his Memphis neighborhood, seamlessly moving in lockstep with the ebb and flow of the song. Choppa simultaneously celebrates and mourns the life of his friend Deonte’ “Tae Grape” Fletcher. At the funeral, he laughs, cries, dances, and praises God through all of it.

Maintaining a prolific pace, NLE Choppa just shared his first fully vertical music video for the fan favorite “SMOKIN ON THEM” earlier this month, which followed “PISTOL PACCIN,” featuring breakout Texas rapper BigXThaPlug, the explosive “Shotta Flow 7,” and Cottonwood 2: Deluxe 2.0, which expanded his 2023 opus Cottonwood 2 with nine new tracks.

21-year-old NLE Choppa has impacted music as a multiplatinum chart-topping artist and asserted himself as a champion for Memphis and the greater global community at large. At 16-years-old, he cemented a partnership between his own NLE Entertainment and Warner Records, spawning a series of RIAA certified platinum hits. Even then, he’s always used his platform to affect positive change. The NLE Reading Challenge incentivized at-risk Memphis elementary students to read 40 million words, ultimately receiving Tennessee’s Charter School Centers Changemaker Charter Award! He performed at GRAMMY in the Schools and organized the “Skate for Tyre” peaceful protest through the streets of Memphis at the top of 2023 and donated a state-of-the-art basketball court to the Raleigh Community Center with all-star basketball player Nancy Lieberman. Additionally, Choppa’s vegan lifestyle is also impacting the culture in a positive way. His This Can’t Be Vegan Food Truck provides a healthy alternative on-the-go in his neighborhood. After his own spiritual awakening NLE Choppa placed an emphasis on mental, physical, and spiritual wellness, adopting veganism, meditation, and prayer. He continues to humbly seek and share enlightenment with his art as the foundation to implement lasting change.
