Tony Shhnow – Tryna See

Tony Shhnow is the upper-echelon of Hip-Hop’s bubbling underground scene, and through a slew of mixtapes, quick-witted flows, and an unabridged drive, Tony has captured the hearts of Hip-Hop stans and critics alike. From the old-school R&B aesthetics in his visuals, his constantly changing style, and unceasing release schedule, Tony is the embodiment of everything that’s made Atlanta the Mecca of modern Hip-Hop. Growing up in Cobb County, a region of Atlanta, Tony Shhnow was inspired by the music his mom played around the house including Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, N.W.A. and Tupac. After years of experimenting with his sound and voice, relentlessly grinding on the underground circuit, and playing a huge role in the popularization of the “plugg” sound that has taken over SoundCloud, Tony Shhnow began to make serious waves in 2020, receiving high praise from Pitchfork on his mixtape Kill Streak.
“Since 2020, Shhnow’s been forging a path as one of plugg music’s finest sons. The subgenre’s hazy, trance-like coziness provided a comfortable world for him to thrive within, nimbly weaving in and out of the saccharine melodies with expert precision.” – Matthew Ritchie, Rolling Stone
“Shhnow and his music have spread across the world thanks to his role as a statesman of the new generation of plugg, a subgenre of rap as closely bound to Atlanta as Shhnow himself.” – Jordan Darville, The FADER
“Tony Shhnow is Atlanta’s secret weapon and mixtape master.” – Paul Meara, BET
“In an industry ravaged by the desire to make a quick buck at any and all costs, Tony Shhnow is a black sheep, an artist who raps for himself first and everyone else second.” – David Aaron Brake, HipHopDX
“His music – atmospheric and full of non-sequiturs – is in rare form.” – Jayson Buford, Stereogum
