Kathy Sledge “The Legendary Lead Voice of Sister Sledge” Performs Surprise Tribute to Nile Rodgers at BMI R&B Hip Hop Awards

Reigniting that good ‘ol family soul’, Kathy Sledge from Sister Sledge performed a surprise tribute to GRAMMY-winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist Nile Rodgers at the 2015 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards. Effortlessly, she brought the audience to their feet with the iconic song “We Are Family!”

While Rodgers receives BMI’s “Icon Award” for his body of work for artists such as, Madonna, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Sister Sledge, Eric Clapton, Chic, Cee-Lo, Pharrell Williams, to name a few, the true musical highlight was the electrifying performance by Kathy Sledge, best known for worldwide hit songs like, “We Are Family” and “He’s The Greatest Dancer” her humility and grace exudes her legacy.

Kathy is now signed to EDM music company Pacific Electronic Music (PEM), with Ibiza based electronic producer and DJ Max Martire, of the DJ duo The Aristofreeks. Trendsetter and trailblazer.
