The Decemberists To Release New “Florasongs” EP 10/9

The Decemberists have announced the October 9 release of a new 5-song EP, Florasongs. The EP—which will be available as a CD, 10” vinyl, and digital album—is a collection of b-sides from the sessions that produced their acclaimed seventh studio album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, which came out in January. Florasongs is available for pre-order today, listen to the lead track “Why Would I Now.”

Four years separated the release of What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World and their chart-topping 2011 album The King Is Dead, and Rolling Stone remarked that The Decemberists were “a band refreshed, enriching its trademark folk rock.” The syndicated radio show Sound Opinions declared it “the first masterpiece of 2015,” while dubbing them “one of the most important bands of the last decade and a half.” The album’s lead single “Make You Better” reached #1 on the Triple-A radio charts.

The Decemberists have toured extensively throughout 2015 with dates continuing into the Fall including performances at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on September 25 and the Austin City Limits in October. See below for a full itinerary or visit thedecemberists.com.
