Miami Dolphins & Publix Award Students with Thanksgiving Shopping Spree

For the 15th year in a row the Miami Dolphins and Publix Supermarket came together and awarded 125 South Florida students, ranging between the ages of 6 and 18, with a shopping spree in an effort to help them prepare for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Paired with Dolphin players and alumni, Dolphin cheerleaders, Miami Dolphins Special Team volunteers, Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization, and members of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, these children spent a few hours walking up and down the aisles of Publix checking off items on the Turkey Day shopping list.

Each participating student, selected specifically by their school’s principal, enjoyed a fun dinner party and got the opportunity to meet and mingle with Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, players, and alumni including Ryan Tannehill, Kolby Listenbee, Rashawn  Scott, De’Veon Smith, Tyro Drayton, Anthony Harris, and many others.

“We had a great time. The boys I was with didn’t have a list or anything so we just went through every aisle and figured out what they wanted,” Dolphins Wide Receiver Kenny Stills stated. “This event is special because I get to spend time with the kids and let them make all of the decisions. I love spending time with the kids and having the opportunity to be out here.”
