During a 101 to 100 loss to the Oklahoma City, Thunder 20 year veteran Dirk Nowitzki reached a milestone that only five other individuals have had the opportunity to do before him. In the second quarter of Wednesday’s against the Thunder Dirk hits a turnaround fadeaway jumper over Jerami Grant, giving him 31,000 points in his career.

Other notable names in that group are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. Chamberlain is next up on the All-Time Scoring List with 31,419, which would be Dirk’s next career milestone achievement.

“You see it all the time,” he told Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News. “The number was, what, averaging 14 or 15 a game this season, which is a tough ask, obviously, at 39 years old. And the one thing I didn’t want to do is just shoot shots to get a milestone. I want to play within myself and within the team and be out there as much as I can.”

Gotta love the Brodie and peep at the end I asked him about scoring 30,000 points ???

Current NBA MVP Russell Westbrook shares his thoughts on Dirk scoring his 31k point. via Sneaker Reporter  “That is an unbelievable accomplishment and obviously him being able to it with one team here in Dallas and all that he is done for the city of Dallas. That is an amazing accomplishment 30k points is a lot of points congratulations to him. I definitely had my fair share of those 31,000 points in the regular season and in a lot of playoff series.”

Paul George asked by Sneakerreporter about Dirk Nowitzki scoring 31k. “I have huge respect for him. Being able to watch him growing up to now being able to play against him its special. Just think about how long he has been in the league still at this age of his career. We are locking in on the scouting report try to see how we can match up against Dirk. He is special individual and it is great for our league and the young guys. He is going to go down as one of the best to ever play.”
