LeBron James And Akron (Ohio) Public Schools Launches I Promise School
Los Angeles Laker’s Forward LeBron James is having the case of theĀ jitters becauseĀ LeBron James Family Foundation and the Akron (Ohio) Public Schools are scheduled to open a new elementary school.Ā The elementary school will focus on at-risk children James his hometown of Akron Ohio.
The I Promise School will start with second grade through fourth and plans to expand in the future. It will educate and target children from challenging backgrounds.

James will donate millions of dollars towards the I PROMISE School and gathering support from sponsors. The IĀ PROMISE school hours and year will be longer than the traditional school protocol, and there will be 40 plus staff members focusing on child development who qualify for the program. For the individuals, who can complete the program James has arranged the opportunity to attendĀ the University of Akron starting in 2021 tuition-free. James has also created a program for parents of at-risk children to go back to high school and complete their high school education; he also wants to help prepare high school students for college.
James and his foundation’s goalĀ is to have more than 1,200 students come through the program and attend college byĀ the year 2029.
