Relaxed recipes for a taste of paradise

Chef Carlo shares his deep knowledge in his book “Margaritaville: The Cookbook” that is all about the spirit of the party.  In the book, Chef Carlo talks about his signature dishes along with his wide-ranging culinary inspirations. In collaboration with acclaimed food writer Julia Turshen, from breakfast, to a day at the beach, to cocktail hour and beyond, “Margaritaville: The Cookbook,” has a recipe—and the story behind it—to suit a wide variety of tastes and occasions.

Can you tell me a little bit about what the Margaritaville lifestyle means?

Well, the Margaritaville lifestyle — it’s escaping the everyday life, having fun and having the right state of mind  — relax, kick back and enjoy!

How do you incorporate the essence of the Margaritaville lifestyle into your recipes?

In our book, we have recipes that will transport you to that state of mind and that special place that you can call your own paradise, in our simple, fresh, and easy to execute recipes. They are stress free number one, and you will definitely enjoy having the opportunity to replicate the recipes at home.

How can we capture the feeling of Margaritaville in our homes?

First you need to have the right attitude. Have that pinch of that ingredient! Thinking that it’s 5:00 somewhere and bring in the Margaritaville in your homes. Through the cookbook, you’re going to find recipes like we have here today, like our Paradise Ceviche. It’s the perfect Margarita! I mean, what’d you just say? The word Margarita. It’s already party time. So I mean, if you make it perfect, it’s even better. It’s hard to go wrong with it. Then for entertaining, you have the amazing Jimmy’s Jambalaya, and then the crab cakes as well. I mean, things that are easy, simple and fun. We’ll allow you actually to interact and be able to entertain with your friends and family while cooking.

What the secret recipe for the perfect Margarita?

Obviously you need to have fresh lime juice. You’re going to squeeze a good Tequila, triple sec, some salt, sugar and the right attitude and you’re getting yourself into the right party mood.

Where can we go for more information?

We can find the “Margaritaville: The Cookbook” in your favorite book stores or buy it online as well at Margaritaville.com.
