Meka Jackson – Brenda’s Babie

Loosely based on the tale of “Brenda’s Got a Baby” by Tupac Shakur, “Brenda’s Babies” continues the story as it correlates to the generational slavery, mental captivity & history repetition still plaguing our generation and beyond. Brenda’s Babies addresses these issues as deeply rooted in cycles of absentee parenting, institutional-ism, divided conquer & escapism. It recognizes systemic & systematic racism as long term residuals of slavery even over 400 years later. “Brenda’s Babies” attempts to offer some insight and perspective to the epidemic of Drugs & Violence as glamorized by our youth today. As victims of circumstance turned aggressors & for the necessary evils, tables are turned and the prey turn predators.

“Brenda’s Babies” serves as the first single offering to Meka’s upcoming project.
