Kelvyn Colt Releases Long-Awaited Sophomore Ep ‘mind Of Colt Pt.1′

Recently being named VEVO discover act for 2019, Kelvyn Colt releases his long-awaited EP ‘MIND OF COLT PT.I’. The EP can as a matter of fact really be identified as a true journey through the mind of Colt. Touching upon matters he personally had to deal with, for the first time opening up to his fans through his music.

Existing out of six tracks, the EP opens up with an ode to his mother, with the track Mama. Immediately showing a more emotional side of the rapper, setting his mom at ease while he is on his musical journey. The following track on Colt’s sophomore EP is the lead single LOVE & HATE, the music video for this track is to be released mid-December and shot in Iceland. This at the same time is the track he performed for his VEVO DSCVR sessions. This track explores the relationship one has with themselves when coping with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. Highlight that ‘Only one can take the pain away’, encouraging to find one’s inner strength.

The third track on the EP is Waited On Me, which released earlier this year and was the first track from the EP to be released. With a video shot in the desert of West-Africa, the track is the embodiment of Colt disconnecting from the world, while everyone keeps fighting for his attention. Followed by the recently released WEAKEND, in which Kelvyn Colt questions loyalty and friendships while working on his international career in music. As Colt put it ’If I party with you on the weekend, can I also cry with you on my weak days?’.

The second-last track, AQUA, on the EP is together with German artist Elijah Hook. With AQUA he is referring to everything fluid, from cash flow to him being fluid as a person. From growing up between cultures and being able to adjust, to being fluid in different situations. Colt decided to close his EP on an emotional note, with the track Alone. Alone revolves around the concept of being ‘born alone and to die alone’. Referring to wanting to be alone and accepting to be alone, overcoming any issues on his own.

Undoubtedly it can be said that ‘MIND OF COLT PT.I’ is a really personal journey, which Kelvyn Colt is taking his listeners on. Giving them a peak into different phases he has gone through, to get where he is now. From dealing with issues on a mental level, to rather being left alone and reassuring mom when he was away realizing his dreams.
