Mickie James Looking To Switch Wrestling Companies?

Coursey of WWE

On Monday, According to A Source close to the situation, former five-time WWE Women’s Champion, Mickie James was seen talking and hugging The Young Bucks of AEW (All Elite Wrestling) at the airport in Atlanta. The trio worked together back when they were a part of the TNA (Impact Wrestling) promotion.

There have been numerous reports of WWE Wrestlers wanting to be released from their current contracts because they feel that the company is not putting their characters in decent storylines or not pushing them at all. The most recent reports are about Dean Ambrose leaving the company after this year’s WrestleMania.

“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April,” WWE recently spoke with Dead Spin and confirmed the rumor.“We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”

James has been able to receive two title shots since she has returned to the WWE against Alexa Bliss and Ronda Rousey, but on both of those occasions, the storylines were set up for James to lose both matches. Outside of the two title shoots she has been cast to help put over some of the younger talents on Raw such as Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Ronda Rousey to name a few.  She has also been used as just eye candy backstage in the background take this past Monday episode of Raw for example.

Before Mickie departed the WWE back in 2010, she was booked in a couple of iconic storylines that featured Trish Stratus, her idol Lita, Michelle McCool, Layla, Beth Phoenix, Lisa “Victoria“ Marie Varon, and Melina to name a few. During her first stint with the company, she captured five Women’s Championships.

If she decided to move on from the WWE for an opportunity with AEW, she would be a great building block for their Women’s Division.
