GRAMMY Award Winning Producer Swagg R’Celious on Working With H.E.R. and Teaching the Game as a College Professor

2019 has been a banner year for GRAMMY award-winning producer Swagg R’Celious who is a longtime producer for recent “Best R&B Album” GRAMMY winner H.E.R., he has also written and produced on tracks with many other artists in his career, such as KehlaniAlicia KeysNe-Yo, and many more.

Swagg has worked with artist H.E.R. for over 10 years since the inception of her career, brought on by manager Jeff Robinson who asked him to get involved. Swagg helped to develop H.E.R. into the GRAMMY Award-winning artist she is today. This year he got the opportunity to walk on stage at the 61st GRAMMY Awards when H.E.R.’s eponymous album netted her and her team honors for “Best R&B Album of the Year,” which he co-produced.

Swagg also co-produced H.E.R.’s song “Hard Place,” which recently charted on Top 40 Pop radio charts and H.E.R. is also nominated for 3 Billboard Music Awards, one of which is for GRAMMY-winning album “H.E.R.” in the  “Best R&B Album Of The Year” category.

Swagg has also worked with GRAMMY-nominated artist Kehlani, specifically on her songs “ FWU ” and “ 1st Position ” which he co-produced.

Currently, Swagg is continuing to work on projects with emerging artists. Most notably, he is working with artist Shari Marie who rose to stardom through Vine and Instagram and has a new song coming out in May.

Interesting Facts:

  • Swagg earned his Master’s in Music Technology at New York University Steinhardt and teaches a class at Berklee College of Music in NYC
  • David Arcelious Harris aka “Swagg R’Celious” received his nickname “Swagg” during his time studying creative music and technology at Lagrange College, after receiving an anonymous letter from a secret admirer
