The Infectious Sounds Of L*A*W

Music is in the DNA of singer/rapper/dancer/producer and multi-instrumentalist L*A*W and he discovered his passion for entertaining at a young age. Coming from one of the most famous families in musical history he is the grandson of Blues legend the late Sam “Bluzman” Taylor. The Brooklyn hood boy from Crown Heights is in a lane of his own, setting the bar high for other entertainers. He is best known for his unique ability to create Hip-Hop fused with Funk and R&B elements while embracing Country, Pop, Jazz and even Techno. It’s amazing how he can house all genres under one roof balancing the commercial element while staying true to his underground roots. L*A*W has perfected his craft with his precise playing of 7 instruments and a perfect balance of killer vocals. His rhyme and dance skills put him in a lane of his own. L*A*W has satisfied the ears of some of the most discerning music critics and garners new fans with each show. His strong social media footprint and global fanbase has reached him over a million views and plays online.

L*A*W  also diversified his producer title by producing Rock/Pop acts like MTV Breakthrough Buzz Artist Nikki Lang whose “Total Departure” EP was entirely produced by L*A*W & in the same month, he landed his song “Walk The Train Car” on the hot new PlayStation 3 game “Dance Battle VS”. L*A*W. He also has 40 licensed songs to various networks; VH-1, NBA, TV-1, Oxygen, Bravo, A&E, Lifetime & popular MTV shows like “The Real World: Brooklyn & Hollywood”. His critically acclaimed, 7-time Grammy nominated first album “Tha Planet 12 Syndrome” gained acclaim from Lionel Richie, Diane Warren, EPMD, Ledisi, Rosanna Arquette, Ellen Barkin, Dru Hill, Chico Debarge, Megan Mullally (Will And Grace), Janelle Monae, Ice-T & The Late Teena Marie.

L*A*W was #1 in the New & Now section of the Winter Edition of SESAC’s Publishing magazine of 2013 & also co-wrote the theme song for the independent movie “We Are The Hartmans” as well as being featured in the movie as the bandleader.

Most fans know L*A*W from the Funk Legend George Clinton’s 420 Funk Mob in the legendary P-Funk camp but millions have seen him on national television back at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards & David Letterman in his white Kangal singing & dancing behind the late legendary British sensation Amy Winehouse as well as being her opening act for her sold-out shows in New York City with his own red-hot 7-piece musically diverse, high energy band, The Planet 12 Movement.

L*A*W’s historic stint with Amy Winehouse can be captured in the Grammy & Oscar Award winning documentary “Amy” which has cemented L*A*W as one of the most sought-after singer/dancers in the industry. With a platinum roster of artists he’s either opened up for or worked with like Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas, Ne-Yo, Lionel Richie, Eric Burdon, Rick James, Chaka Khan, Harry Connick Jr, Fishbone, Morris Day and The Time, James Ingram & Deniece Williams, L*A*W is a major force that’s causing the industry to rewrite their terms.
