Cristol Encourages Quarantine “Country Twerk” with Country Sensation Skyler Clark

The Twerk Gawd and St. Pete native encourages new fans to twerk

When Hussch Boy Productions recording artist CRISTOL completed his last twerk anthem it was his country music listening female fans and friends who wondered where they fit in with it all. After all, twerking by now has reached all across the globe and with Lil Nas X and Twerk Goddesses like @Nastya_Nass_ showing us all that country music and twerking as an expertise transcends color lines, why then hadn’t the Twerk Gawd himself produced a more inclusive track.

Enter “Country Twerk” featuring Country crooner Skyler Clark. Cristol has encouraged his fans to stay positive while social distancing and have some fun at home. “All I wanna do is uplift the people,” says Cristol. Cristol knows the nation could use the lightheartedness. “This is just a fun record for everyone. You can’t avoid having fun while twerking,” says the charming mixtape master. The single has already premiered on regional country radio stations and inspired a social media #twerklinedance challenge over the weekend. Country Life, All Top 20 and WorldStar have featured the single on Instagram.

Cristol is no stranger to social media success, his 2019 single ” Twerk Tales” boasts 14 Million views on YouTube and his fans – mostly women are always eager to demonstrate their loyalty in one of his many twerk music videos. Cristol is a Southern Muscle Radio Awards “Indie Mixtape Artist of the Year” and has made songs with rappers Lil Boosie, Rick Ross and Turk. The St. Petersburg native has plans to be a main influencer of worldwide twerking on the scene.

The idea of “Country Twerk” was entirely intentional and it wasn’t until he found himself with his back against the wall, did the St. Pete artist create what he felt was a masterpiece. “Life wasn’t going my way and I wanted to try something new. I have been creating twerk music for over 10 years and I felt like it was time to try something completely different.”

Just months prior to releasing the single Cristol was living in a home without water and no air conditioning in sweltering Florida summer heat. Without so much as a working stove or fridge and no booked shows in sight, Cristol was forced to send the mother of his child and son away.

Sinking in depression, he took a road flagging job out of state 5 days/week. In a matter of weeks, Cristol was back to booking shows like clockwork and things were starting to look up. While at one show a fan challenged Cristol: how could he be the Twerk Gawd when the women who love country music weren’t twerking to his music. In that moment, Cristol decided to make a song all his fans could enjoy.

“I started listening to old song ideas I had in my phone while at work and there was a song I wrote to a country beat. I had hoped to present it to a country music artist,” said Cristol. Cristol loved the melody and quickly began writing the lyrics for what would be the most fun record he’d ever written. He then linked up with Port-au-Prince, Haiti guitarist and producer Nitro, who he had met in a session with another artist. Nitro was sent the material and added an impressive new age country beat before returning the track.

Cristol first heard his vision come to life sitting inside his truck, he jumped out with excitement, knowing that this was the big record he was looking for and began writing “Country Twerk” that week. He and Nitro crammed into the studio with a group of friends and female fans who immediately found themselves dancing non-stop. When Cristol sent the song to longtime friend and mentor Jason _ he suggested that he collaborate with a country artist to give it that added spark. Jason suggested country music singer Skyler Clark.

Days later Skyler sent in his vocals and “Country Twerk” had instant hit value. The chemistry between the two Florida artists was undeniable and Skyler even offered his family ranch to shoot the music video. Now “Country Twerk” is heard on local urban and country stations throughout Florida. Kix 92.9 Country and fans online have taken to the single in the form of a #twerklinedancechallenge on TikTok.

The single follows a new wave and genre within country music and Cristol has properly made his contribution for the fans who love it.
