Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale On Hosting AXS TV’s “A Year in Music,” AXS TV Programming, Van Halen & More

Grammy-Award winning band Halestorm released its fourth full-length album, Vicious, in 2018. Called a “muscular, adventurous, and especially relevant rock record” by Rolling Stone, Vicious earned the band its second Grammy nomination, a Best Hard Rock Performance nod for the song “Uncomfortable,” the band’s fourth #1 at rock radio. In addition, Halestorm was also named 2018 Rock Artist Of The Year by Loudwire. In turn, Halestorm — which includes singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale, drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith — has earned a reputation as a powerful live music force, headlining sold-out shows and topping festival bills around the world.

Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale is trying something new this year, hosting AXS TV series A Year In Music. Each episode of A Year In Music puts the spotlight on a different era of music, viewing the year’s hottest bands, biggest albums, surprising breakups and monumental breakthroughs through the lens of the political and social happenings of the time to provide a fascinating look at how they impacted and influenced each other. The popular series kicks off its third season with a profile of the game-changing year 1989, which premieres on AXS TV this Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 9:30 PM EST.

On September 30, 2020, I had the pleasure of interviewing Lzzy Hale by phone about hosting A Year In Music, the programming of AXS TV, being on-camera and more, as embedded below.
