Herman Cain was the true story of the ‘American dream’ – a man who came from a poor and under-educated family and reached the highest levels of corporate, social and political America, while always remembering his roots in family and faith. Herman Cain, who rose from poverty in the segregated South to become the CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, and a Republican Presidential Candidate in 2012, passed away in Atlanta, GA from COVID-19 on July 30, 2020. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral of Herman Cain was limited to just 50 people. Herman’s fans were unable to say goodbye.
FROM POOR TO CEO: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY OF HERMAN CAIN celebrates Cain’s extraordinary history with a feature-length documentary that chronicles both his personal and professional life. Herman Cain’s story describes the American reality, and his down-to-earth personal tale of hope and hard work is both unforgettable and inspirational. FROM POOR TO CEO: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY OF HERMAN CAIN features amix of archive footage, animations, first person interviews with Cain, family members and community leaders. The documentary which was produced and filmed in 2018-2019, was produced by Tolli/Cain Entertainment and is distributed through Liftable Media.
“For over 70 years, my Dad, Herman Cain, dedicated his life to his family, his business career, and service to others,” said Dr. Melanie Cain Gallo, Herman Cain’s daughter. “As a Black man born in the 1940’s, my Dad undoubtedly experienced racism in education, business, and throughout his life, however, the movie does not focus on race. Instead, it focuses on how he worked to overcome those barriers to achieving his American dream. With the divisiveness and tensions in our country, this uplifting and inspiring documentary is especially needed today.”
