Live Session with 3x GRAMMY nominated producer and guitarist LosHendrix who is best known for his work on SZA’s “Good Days” as well as being Brent Faiyaz’s day-1 producer. The highly-sought-after producer’s most recent collab is Don Tolliver x Kali Uchi’s new single ‘Drugs N Hella Melodies’ that is currently climbing high on the charts. The highly-sought-after producer/songwriter earned two GRAMMY nods this year for his work on Giveon’s TAKE TIME and another for Ant Clemmons’ Happy 2 Be Here.

LosHendrix is a NYC-born, LA-based producer who has worked with artists such as NLE Choppa, Kehlani, Childish Gambino, Camila Cabello, Kiana Lede, and more. His songwriting, producing, engineering, and multi-instrumental skills impact Hip Hop, R&B, and Pop with a distinct and driving dynamic of his own, which he’s coined “New Age Vintage.”

In a nearly hour long conversation LosHendrix encapsulated for me his journey from his very first placement with the iconic Hip Hop crew the Lox to more recently, his work with the inimitable Don Tolliver. He also broke down some of the inner workings of the production world and how the paychecks are created…real gems that I really didn’t expect to get from our first conversation, not to mention his exposure of his cheat code for keyboards…you’ll have to listen in to get the scoop!

He also lets us in on some of the artists he’s paying attention to that we may not know of yet but are worth watching, like the group Sault out of the UK whose new album Nine is a pure masterpiece. Check out their album review over on Pitchfork.

By far one of the most in-depth and informative interviews for me this year, I can’t wait for more music from this young lion…he hinted he might actually drop a song of his own sometime this year, as well so that will be something else to talk about for sure. Check out the conversation below!
