THEMXXNLIGHT debuts new single Naughty or Nice + Full Interview

Fresh off their new single “Naughty or Nice” with Wiz Khalifia, the R&B duo THEMXXNLIGHT sits down with Brittney Boston to give a little more insight on their single and what’s to come from them this year.

Brittney: What inspired the collaboration with Wiz on “Naughty or Nice?”

THEMXXNLIGHT: The collaboration came together so timely! We had the song done for a while and major labels told us that it was a hit and to hold out for a hit feature. We played it for Wiz during a studio session and he loved it right away. He finished his verse in 30 minutes and boom we had a banger!

Britney: Naughty or Nice is on pace to be your most successful song with regards to, views on YouTube. With almost 900k views in 4 days, what caused the increase in views on this particular record?

THEMXXNLIGHT: It definitely is super crazy to us! It has a lot to do with the fact that we are the only artists of Indian ethnicity to collaborate with Wiz. Our fans in India and across the world really support our features together and we have so much love for the viewers and listeners.

Brittney: Tell us more about the music video concept and how it came together?

THEMXXNLIGHT: The video came together super fast! We filmed it about a week after we recorded the track with Wiz, so a lot of planning went into it. The lyrics of the song really drove the concept of the girls and the pool. We really felt we wanted to give off a sort of trippy vibe as well.

Brittney: Is THEMXXNLIGHT signed to Taylor Gang or you guys are rocking independent?

THEMXXNLIGHT: Taylor Gang is family! We are fully independent though.

Brittney: When can we expect to hear some of the other features, i.e.: Megan Thee Stallion, Roy Woods and DJ Snake in the next few months?

THEMXXNLIGHT: Those features are all hits! Really hope the world gets to hear those soon.

Brittney: How important is your Indian heritage to your sound?

THEMXXNLIGHT: Our Indian heritage is definitely super important and we incorporate a lot of melodies and sounds in our music. We actually did a one off 5 track EP with Sony Music India, which made waves as the lead single is almost at 12M views on YouTube!

Brittney: What would equate to “making it” for you?

THEMXXNLIGHT: “Making it” is definitely the goal for every artist! For us, we just want to make the best music for our fans and keep them hooked with every track we drop. If that leads to filling an arena, then so be it!

Brittney: Can we expect an album or an EP soon? If so, when?

THEMXXNLIGHT: Yes definitely. We have an album planned for the top of 2022.

Brittney: Are there any show or tour dates coming up?

THEMXXNLIGHT: Right now we are just doing some quick appearances here and there! We just performed with Wiz in Vegas at Drais. That was crazy.

Brittney: What is something most people don’t know about you?

THEMXXNLIGHT: Most people do not know that we are heavy into real estate as well! We sell homes by day and make music at night.
