T-Rell Announces New Album and Drops the Visuals for Lead Single ‘Slide’ Featuring Fredo Bang

I’ve been watching this young lion T-Rell from a distance for a little while now and it’s a great pleasure to see him grow and gain success. He’s put in the work, just signed a deal with Empire and has a new album 2 Big 2 Ignore on the way. Leading up to the album drop, T-Rell teamed up with another fast riser Fredo Bang for a dope new joint called Slide which gives us a first look at what might be described as an evolved artist whose journey has taught him some tough lessons in a short lifetime and it’s translated itself into some impactful music. While he might have been slept on until recently, things are looking up and I feel this is an artist we’ll be talking about for quite some time.

Hailing from Topeka, Kansas, rapper T-Rell has become a master at turning pain into progress. A traumatic car accident that killed his best friend and manager 8 Ball in 2014 changed his life forever. The loss of his strongest support system nearly led T-Rell to give up his music career but instead, inspired him to create the peculiarly popular Southern memorial anthem “My Dawg,” bolstering his career. Over the past several years, the melodic rapper has continued to make his mark on the music industry and his community. His vocal prowess reminiscent of R&B legends past coupled with his high-energy melodic delivery has earned him millions of YouTube views on videos like “Skurrt” and “LL3” — a tribute to his late close friend and collaborator Mo3. Released this past Valentine’s Day, his fourth album, Rell Play, climbed to #1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart, #6 on the iTunes All Genres chart, and #69 on the Apple Music charts. This was a major win, not just for Rell, but for Topeka — the city that raised him and to which he regularly gives back to as a community leader by sponsoring events such as his annual Back-To-School sneaker drives. With his upcoming album 2 Big 2 Ignore, T-Rell is on a quest to continue making his talent and presence felt in rap and to make Mo3 proud.

“I kind of got a chip on my shoulder about being overlooked, as I feel at times, and I feel this album is a recreation of myself making more uptempo music. If you’ve noticed, I’ve changed my hair and my image. Coming off the loss of my close friend Mo3 and releasing the big single “LL3,” I feel I gotta make my bro proud with this new sound.” – T-Rell

Already known for his slower, heartfelt anthems, T-Rell’s knack for uptempo bangers is apparent in his new video single “Slide” ft. Louisiana’s own Fredo Bang from T-Rell’s upcoming album 2 Big 2 Ignore album. With features from Kevin Gates, Jackboy, DC Young Fly, and more, 2 Big 2 Ignore is slated to be released September 28th via EMPIRE.
