0Billy Mira On “Billy Mira & The Hitmen,” David Lee Roth, Howard Stern, Future Career Plans & More
Billy Mira rose to stardom as an impressionist and comedian via The Howard Stern Show. Discovered by Stern Show producer Sal Governale, Mira was an on-air regular from 2002 to 2008, continuing to work with and tour alongside Governale to this day. In 2010, Mira started appearing on a Sirius Satellite radio show covering the sport of mixed martial arts. This led to him developing a show that would lead him to working on Fox Sports Radio and Fox 5 TV in Las Vegas from 2011 to 2013.
Originally a singer by trade, Billy Mira also keeps busy as a vocalist these days. He has been able to combine his singing talents with his impressions and comedy to develop a show likely like nothing you have seen before. Performing under the moniker Billy Mira & The Hitmen, this theater-level production can be described as Vegas meets Broadway. Beyond playing local gigs without The Hitmen, Mira also keeps occupied as the co-host of the Rollin’ With podcast — as co-hosted with Rob Rush and Twisted Sister’s Mark Mendoza — as produced by Area 22 Productions; recent guest include Vanilla Fudge’s Carmine Appice and Mark Stein, Zebra’s Randy Jackson, John Corabi, and Tim “Ripper” Owens.
On December 12, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Billy Mira via Zoom, as embedded below. We not only spoke about Billy Mira & The Hitmen, but also his years around Howard Stern, his history related to Van Halen, and future career plans. More on Mira can be found here, here and here.
