The Iranian Martial Artist Reza Goodary Still Thirsty for Fighting

Reza Goodary also known as Persian Leopard, is an Iranian martial artist based in Thailand. The major Iranian press describes the 34-year-old as the first Iranian martial artist to compete in six disciplines; Karate, Muay Thai, Jiujitsu, bare-knuckle boxing, and mixed martial arts.

But who is he really? Everything we need to know about him is here! Goodary was born in Tehran in 1988. He started sports at the age of seven with judo and then turned to full-contact karate underground master Hamid Soltani. He’s won world and international championship medals in karate for more than two decades, and eventually, he was forced to migrate to East Asia, moving away from amateur sports and turning to professional sports. Immediately after starting training in grappling, he got two valuable medals in the world World Martial Arts Masterships (WMC).

Eight professional Muay Thai fights, 24 Brazilian jiu-jitsu bouts, and winning 10 colorful international medals, named the first Iranian fighter in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) are his achievements.

Reza, currently fighting in the middleweight division of Venum Training Camp, is preparing himself to fight In the hexagon. He is in his 34th year of life. Reza has endured 8 years away from his homeland to realize his dreams. His coaches and team asked him many times to retire, but he refused and continues to train more seriously.

He says on his Instagram: “There is too much time to sit in the audience, but not for fighting. I see no reason to retire. I training and work more than my teammates, and I keep up with the 20-year-olds.”

Earlier in interviews with the press of his country, he stated that becoming a champion in a prestigious mixed martial arts organization is the condition of his retirement.
