CHI drops late night summer anthem “Prada Bag”

Toronto isn’t the only city in Canada trying to heat up the club this summer. While Drake and an army of South African house DJs were huddled over a soundboard deep in the OVO dungeon – Vancouver native CHI was in the lab representing the west coast. His new single “Prada Bag” draws on broody but energetic production, featuring haunting vocal chops over a driving baseline.

The song feels futuristic and nostalgic at the same time, combining a sound that is looking forward and lyrics that are reflecting on days past. It’s easy to get lost in the production and CHI’s melodic flow, but between his melodies is an air of authenticity that adds to the overall vibe of the track. Based on a real night out in Vancouver, listeners can’t help but feel the reality that radiates from the record.

CHI has been working a long time to perfect his storytelling abilities. Since age 16, CHI has been in the studio preparing for a career in music. As far as the future is concerned, CHI says he plans to, “keep grinding and focusing on my music, my career, and taking care of my family. For now, I got more singles on the way with dates yet to be announced.”
