Cool and Calm, Cohlman’s Pop Rap is Inspired by Techno With an Understated Charm

Many alternative hip hop artists tested the limits of rap with their intricate wordplay and inclusion of musical elements from genres not typically associated with hip hop. While early alternative hip hop lyrics often spoke of serious issues like poverty and heartbreak, there was also often an element of humor, irony, and idiosyncrasy to these tracks.

Alternative hip hop places a strong emphasis on the musical elements of a song. This was unlike gangsta rap, which often featured a funky sample over a blasting beat and little else. Alternative hip hop tended to be more expressive, with multiple short samples in each song that were often used as punchlines to the lyrics.

Introducing Cohlman, a chill pop rap artist who loves to make chill hip hop influenced by slap house and techno-pop music. He’s motivated by slap house and catchy melodies of contemporary tunes as well.

in his own style he fuses elements from House with other genres such sound design or drum programming creating mellow yet powerful beats that are perfect for grooving to at a club or concert and relaxing at home on your couch while watching Netflix! There is no end in sight to this standout artist`s versatility and creativity, he is original and non-derivative.

“The proudest moment of my career to date was having a song that I wrote and recorded go viral on Spotify without any advertising or promo expenditure. My most thrilling experience, however, came when big brands like Forever 21 used it in their ads alongside YouTubers such as SypherPK and George Janko who upload videos about fashion trends to YouTube!”

Currently signed to Mars Records, this artist is bound to skyrocket! Check out the explosive single from Cohlman that took him out of his comfort zone and into the next level of creativity for this young artist. A remix package was released to follow up the single in early June 2022 with remixes from Miscris, Elemer, Ricii Lompeurs, and Toby Williams. Don’t be a bandwagon fan!
