Bellator MMA Star A.J. McKee On Training For His Next Fight, Music, Monster Energy & More

Bellator is a leading global MMA and kickboxing promotion featuring many of the best athletes in the world. Under the direction of veteran fight promoter Scott Coker, Bellator events take place in major cities around the world and can be seen on television in over 160 countries to an available audience of over 1 billion people. In the States, Bellator events from all over the world can be seen on Showtime — a new TV deal announced last year — and online via Pluto TV and Bellator’s YouTube channel.

A native of Long Beach, California, A.J. “Mercenary” McKee made his professional MMA debut in 2015. He has since been Bellator’s Featherweight Champion beyond winning the Bellator’s Featherweight World Champion Athlete. Recently ranked as Bellator’s #1 Featherweight and #3 Pound-For-Pound Athlete, McKee holds the most conseuctive victories in Bellator history. Within the last week he was victorious at Bellator 286, which took place in the aforementioned Long Beach. However, the next fight for McKee — current record of 19-1 — has not been announced as of today.

On October 6, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with A.J. McKee via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond his future plans related to Bellator, we talked about Monster Energy, music and hobbies outside of MMA. More on McKee and Bellator MMA’s events can be found here, here and here.
